My nephew was younger than 1 when his grandmother died at a young age, suddenly and unexpectedly. We asked people who knew her to call in and share memories about her as a way for my nephew to get to know her through the voices of those who knew and loved her. Not only is it nice for my nephew to get to know his grandmother in a way he might not have otherwise, my sister and I get to feel grateful toward those who participated and we have captured the voices of family members who are aging.
