Your introductory greeting is the message guests hear first, whether they call into your account or, if you added a physical phone, when they lift the handset.
We use one greeting for both experiences, so the same message plays in both places. We load the greeting onto the phone ahead of time so guests cannot accidentally change or delete it.
Most people find it easiest to record the greeting by calling in. You can find those instructions in Step 1 here: https://lifeonrecord.com/accinfo/
Want to record the greeting with someone who is not with you, such as a fiancé(e)? You can do that with a 3-way call:
- Call the other person first.
- Add the LifeOnRecord number as the second call.
- Merge the calls.
- iPhone: While you are on the first call, tap More, then Add People. Call the LifeOnRecord number, then tap Merge. (Apple Support)
- Android: The exact wording varies a little by phone, but it is usually Add call, then call the LifeOnRecord number, then tap Merge or Call merge.
- Once the calls are merged, follow the same Step 1 call-in instructions to record your greeting together.
If you would rather upload a recording, you can do that here.
